Another Lost blog.

Told ya’ll bitches.

John Locke’s father is the original Sawyer, the one who ruined his life and gave him an identity.

I said in the last post that it was kind of obvious at this point and it was.  In season one we learned that Sawyer was not Sawyer’s real name, that it was James Ford.  We learned this when Hurley made a list of who all survived and “Sawyer” was not on the list.  But before they knew that, Kate read a letter she had found in the wreckage written by a little kid to a “Mr. Sawyer.”  In it, it said that the child had no parents because of him.  Because of “Mr. Sawyer’s” con, his dad killed his mom and then killed himself.  So he promised to find “Mr. Sawyer” using his own methods against him and when he did find him, he’d kill him.

So, you were led to believe that Sawyer was a bad guy and you really hated him.  Then, the big reveal was that the letter was written bySawyer, not to him.  Then, you felt real sympathetic toward the guy.

And so when it was found out later in the show that Locke’s dad happened to be a con man who went by various names, you kind of thought “hm…”  (At least, I did.)  It probably would have never occured to anyone but on Lost, everyone has connections to each other.  In the special features of the Season Two DVD there is a character map with lines drawn to each other explaining what connections they share.  There is one drawn between Sawyer and Locke but it is unexplained.

Then, in last week’s preview for this week’s episode, it said something like “a common enemy shared by Locke and Sawyer.”  Well, it isn’t Ben, and I couldn’t think of anyone else.  The signs were all there!

Anyway, definately the best episode of the season.  I said that about the previous three as well, but, damn, it’s really gotten good as we approach the end of the season.

Next week’s episode is supposed to be about Ben’s origin and the Dharma Initiative.  We’re also supposed to find out who the mysterious “Jacob” is.  I have the secret:  it’s me.  Jacob is my middle name so I mean, who else could it be?

Turns out I am the one who got Kate pregnant.

MY BAD!  News to me, I haven’t even met her.  {cue Lost surprise twist music chimes}

Just kidding.

So, to recap:  the first time we heard “Jacob’s” name was when Pickett (the guy who was shot and killed by Juliet who I hated because he was beating up Sawyer for no reason) said it to Ben, saying, “[Jack] Shephard wasn’t even on Jacob’s list.”  So Jacob was the one who made the list at the end of season two that was composed of Kate, Jack, James (Sawyer) and Hurley.

Then, during the brainwashing session Karl (Alex’s boyfriend) was subjected to earlier this season, one of the slides said “God loves you as he loved Jacob.”  It is no doubt a biblical reference but like everything in this show it means more than that.

Jacob is probably “Him,” not God (I don’t think), but the “Him” everyone was asking about all throughout the show so far.  When they found Desmond, he asked “Are you Him?” which is what Kelvin said when Desmond originally came to the Hatch.  Then, when they captured Ben and were interrogating him, he said, “You have no idea what He’ll do.  He is a good man but not a forgiving man.”  There are many other references to a “Him,” and it’s believed that he’s the supreme authority among the others.  It’s no doubt someone we know… but I got no friggin idea who it could be.

Except… I know that Naiomi (the parachustist/helicopter escapee) is an Other.  I really want someone to crash on the island that is on our side (that is, the side of the survivors).  I really want them to be able to trust somebody.  But I’m afraid Naiomi is not that person.

I was reading online and people who actually speak Porteguese translated what she was mumbling when they originally rescued her.  Mikhail (the eye-patch guy who turned up not dead) agreed to fix her up medically if they’d let him go.  While Mikhail was tending to her wounds, she said (in a supposed “dreary state”) something that Mikhail translated as “thank you.”  Turns out, she had actually said “I am not alone.”

Was Mikhail expecting her?  Did he think Naiomi or one of her companions shot the flare gun, and that’s why he was surprised to run across Hurley?  Was he expecting others?

Mikhail then walked away and Hurley (or Jin, can’t remember who) saw that he had taken the iPhone (it is an iPhone bitches, click here to see).  Mikhail could have taken it just to suit his own interests but I’m thinking something much more sinister is involved.

What’s more, that would mean a massive cover-up about the wreckage of Flight 815 would not be necessary.  If Naiomi is in on the whole thing, she could just be lying.  “They found all the bodies,” could just turn out to be a big lie.

I hope Jack Bauer somehow crashes on the island and they can actually trust him and he brings weapons and they blow all the Others to hell (if they’re not there already.)  Until then, Naiomi will continue to lie, Ben will continue to be evil, and poor Juliet will be caught in the middle, ultimately getting herself killed with her Romeo (Jack) because of the two warring tribes.

THINGS ADAM IS STILL WONDERING ABOUT:
-Why did the Others leave their houses to set up the decoy camp?
-What the hell was Danielle Russeau doing looking for dynamite?  Why was she not at all phased about the man trapped in the brig being killed by Sawyer?
-Why Josh Halloway (Sawyer) isn’t nominated for an Oscar or something.  The scene when he hands him the letter he’s waited his entire life for him to read… That shit was GRIPPING.

You don’t understand.  I love this show.  I love it so much I want to take it back behind the bleachers and get it pregnant.
Actually, it might all be Jigsaw’s fault.  In which case, they should totally use that music during the last three minutes of the last show ever when they friggin reveal the answers to EVERYTHING in a series of fast paced montages.
