Wordpress and GoDaddy
I’m now using WordPress on my own domain (adamczar.net). Big deal, you might say. Indeed, you are right!
No longer am I confined by the… confines… of MySpace, Xanga, LiveJournal, or Blogger! No longer do I have to wake at night, gasping my chest, at the thought of my blog entires being out of my control!
“What if Xanga shuts down, Katy?!” I exclaim, grabbing her shoulders and arousing her from slumber.
One of her eyes spring open, the other refuses to wake and stays shut. Her head pops up. “What?”
“What if al Queda gets LiveJournal? Where will my entries go?”
“Maybe they have backups?” She says groggily. She’s a champ for being so alert at 3am.
Maybe. But now I don’t have to worry about that. Now, all my blogs are (or soon will be) here, right here on my own domain that I own: adamczar.net. If you’re mildly geeky like myself, you’ll understand. If not, that’s fine. Nothing against MySpace, but I like this better. Everything–right down to the posting interface–is run straight from my own server. Still typing in www.myspace.com and having to log in and click “write blog?” I look at you like a parent looks upon their newborn child. With contempt.
GoDaddy (my hosting provider) made it so easy. It practically installed itself! I didn’t have to learn any pesky programming languages like MySQL or PHP.
If you’re looking for a web hosting product (and, let’s be honest, here, cats: who isn’t?) consider GoDaddy. More to come.
