If you’re seeing this, that means you have me bookmarked and aren’t using the RSS feed.  The RSS feed has automatically changed to my new site, and if you still want it bookmarked you should update it to:  adamczar.tumblr.com.

Netflix & The End

adamczar on April 30th, 2008

As this site barrels toward it’s inevitable fiery death, I wanted to thank all of my readers who have stuck with me so far.

I’m not going to stop writing, I’m just sort of moving around.  You can still see my blogs on MySpace:  www.myspace.com/adamczar (you’ll need to add me as a friend first, but feel free), and any entertainment related blogs will probably be seen cropping up on PopCritics.com, whose co-owner, Mike, graciously invited me to post articles.

Sooner or later this web address will redirect to my Tumblr.

Anyway, I got an email today from Netflix saying that I can pass on one month free to a friend.  And if they sign up for a month, I get five free bonus rentals.  I’d really recommend Netflix (the only time I left them was when Blockbuster was offering free movie rentals upon return, but once they stopped that I went back).  So if you want one month free (that’s two weeks more than you’d get on your own), let me know and I can make dat a-happon.  First come, first serve.  I will edit this if/when somebody takes me up on it, so if you’re reading this you can still have one month free.  Seriously, I don’t even have to know you.

How to Keep Track of Me

adamczar on March 19th, 2008

I now have 3 blogs.

This one, which is about TV, movies, books, whatevs.  No personal stuff here.

My tumblog, which used to be about the food I ate, is now about the strange dreams I have.  It’s pretty good, but then again, I would say that because I write about them.

And MySpace, which is for personal stuff.  You gotta be my friend to see it, but if you’re a reader here, you are my friend, all you gotta do is add me if you’re interested.

Quick Website-ish Stuff

adamczar on February 7th, 2008

1.) Did anyone notice the new picture in the upper right corner? It’s me, flapper jacks, in case you don’t know what I look like. That took some time to make.

2.) I’ll probably not have a Lost blog immediately after the show, because a friend from out of town will be in town, and he takes precedence. The good news is that he and his wife also enjoy Lost so I’m sure we’ll be watching it on the DVR by Friday at the latest.

3.) No new Nexterday News blog from me this week, not because I don’t have some written, but because of #2, and plus I want to slow the pace a bit. And, I kind of feel like nobody gets the concept (as evidenced by Katy saying, “I really don’t get the concept…”) So now is your chance to understand it: It’s news from the future. It can be funny, maybe. It can also be depressing, maybe. It can be whatever it wants to be, because the future isn’t written yet (or, at least, not until we write it). The biggest concept to understand is the year in the subject line of each post. The rest kind of falls into place after that.

4.) I’m a moderator over at The Terminator Forum now. Booyakacha. Brand new web site, so… if ya like Terminator…

Just sayin’.

Happy Birthday to my fiance Katy!

Wordpress and GoDaddy

adamczar on December 12th, 2007

I’m now using WordPress on my own domain (adamczar.net). Big deal, you might say. Indeed, you are right!

No longer am I confined by the… confines… of MySpace, Xanga, LiveJournal, or Blogger! No longer do I have to wake at night, gasping my chest, at the thought of my blog entires being out of my control!

“What if Xanga shuts down, Katy?!” I exclaim, grabbing her shoulders and arousing her from slumber.

One of her eyes spring open, the other refuses to wake and stays shut. Her head pops up. “What?”

“What if al Queda gets LiveJournal? Where will my entries go?”

“Maybe they have backups?” She says groggily. She’s a champ for being so alert at 3am.

Maybe. But now I don’t have to worry about that. Now, all my blogs are (or soon will be) here, right here on my own domain that I own: adamczar.net. If you’re mildly geeky like myself, you’ll understand. If not, that’s fine. Nothing against MySpace, but I like this better. Everything–right down to the posting interface–is run straight from my own server.  Still typing in www.myspace.com and having to log in and click “write blog?”  I look at you like a parent looks upon their newborn child.  With contempt.

GoDaddy (my hosting provider) made it so easy. It practically installed itself! I didn’t have to learn any pesky programming languages like MySQL or PHP.

If you’re looking for a web hosting product (and, let’s be honest, here, cats: who isn’t?) consider GoDaddy. More to come.
